Phillip W. Gordy
What is a movie without music?
Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Phillip Weldon Gordy. Our music man.
Phil Gordy was the mentor of Stacy Ferguson (Black Eyed Peas). Hailing from the Gordys of Motown, he came from a family of entertainers, athletes, businessmen, and politicians.
Phil managed EYC in the early 90s and won a platinum record in 1994. Not too shabby! Him being my cousin-in-law was not the determining factor. I wanted this man for my composer all along.
With his great tunes like Just Tryin' To Make It and Dance (Body Body) I know Phil Gordy can bring the groove to Hill Street Blues The Movie.
One day he was laughing and stomping his feet and snapping his fingers singing "Come back to The Hill Street Blues." I was going along with him.
That's what I love about this guy. He's got the music in him. It's deep down in his soul.
